Portarlington

Life wasn't meant to be easy, I had my latest blog almost complete then my web page closed and I've been pretty good when it comes to saving my blog and each time I go back into blog there it is waiting for me to continue. This time unexpectedly the page closed and yes it was saved, I know you were thinking what a dill not saving. When I went back into my blog I was very unhappy to see my page had gone. I have looked for it everywhere and nothing. So sadly I sit here typing it out again. I can only remember some of the things from the original so I will have to make a new blog, which I am not happy about.

So here goes another attempt at my blog from weekend.

I went out once again with my beloved and the camera, the eski was packed and I was feeling really happy and ready to go. We headed down the Bellarine Peninsula towards a place called Portarlington. The day was cool but with a jacket on the wind that hit me as I stepped out the front door didn't seem so bad.

Traveling through Bacchus Marsh it began to rain but I wasn't going to let this dampen my spirit.
We arrived in Portarlington. just after lunch. I wanted to go to the foreshore caravan park, reason being as a child back in the 80's we used to camp there with my family.

I was eager to get some photos, but not so for hubby he didn't much feel like using his camera today, reason being the weekend before he had a fall and sadly he hurt his wrist so I was happy to let him sit in the car. I was most grateful that he was very happy to come out with myself and my camera even though he was in pain.

I looked around at my surroundings, remembering the days of yester year. Playing on the sand and winning the title of Miss Portarlington, in I think about 1972. The sun was trying to show it's head between the grey clouds as the seagulls glided slowly over the water as it greeted the sand.

I have so many photos I want to share, but sadly I cannot. I have fond memories of this beautiful place and today I have made more memories which I have captured for ever and the special part they were made with my beloved.

These two photos are both taken at the same place in Portarlington above cira 1960's below 2014

What is left of an old ship wreck. I'm wondering if this is the same ship we used too look for when I was a kid.
