Fitzroy Gardens

So here is my next blog which I should have done weeks ago.

It was a beautiful Sunday after noon the sun shone high in the sky Summer was over and Autumn was here,  the weather hadn't started to change which was good and although the Autumn leave appeared the sun was still a warm welcome on my face as we walked in the Fitzroy gardens.

There were gatherings of families with small children running about a wedding and the photographer were standing under the trees away from the sun trying to get that great shot. Oh I wish I had of been the photographer, the day was perfect as beloved and I sat on the grass and took in the world around us.

I once again had my camera with me and managed to get some really great shots. Most of these shots were taken with my 55-250 mm lens

Captain Cooks Cottage Australia's first explorer

As we walked around the gardens three Cockatoos flew into the trees. I slowly proceeded to walk up to the tree they were perched on the branches above me, then I looked up one looked down on me. I whistled at him and he lent over and it was like he was watching me. I slowly moved as not to scare them and as I raised my camera I snapped a few shots.

Every so often he would run up the branch then lean over too look at me, then all of a sudden he flew down onto the path right in front of me and opened his yellow crest.

A real show off he was, as I tried to get another photo, an elderly couple walked past him and sadly he flew away.

Beauty

Well what can i say i have not been here the last few weeks which has now left me with lots of exciting things to show you, well I think they are exciting.

In March I met a beautiful friend for the first time from Facebook with her family. What a pleasure it was to meet her, such a lovely lady and he gorgeous family, I hope one day when she is back in Melbourne we can do it all again.

When we parted beloved and I decided to make the most of the beautiful day in town, we walked down towards China Town and took some great graffiti shots and then back to our usual haunt of the Block Arcade. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and that is what photography is all about, it is about what the photographer sees thru the lens, everyone sees beauty in different things and i see beauty every where I go.

In the back streets

Beloved and I had a wonderful day, eating Thai in a cute little restaurant in Swanston Street, walking the back streets and looking at quaint shops that you would not see on the busy main streets, seeing different and unusual people glancing at them with a smile on your face males for a great day.

Life is wonderful when I go out with my camera, I see so many things I would not see if I just went for a walk, from the graffiti on a dirty old rubbish bin, to the reflection in a puddle which most would just step over to the old abandoned building left to sit amid new ones.

An old building on the Cnr of Elizabeth Street, they don't make them like this anymore
Every thing holds it's own story  and most we will never hear.  but as long as the story is a good one and we are happy that is all that counts.
