A day in the rain forest

We had planned my beloved and I to go to another place, we set out to head up the highway to a place called Seymour and to find out where the Golbourne River park was. We did arrive in Seymour but hubby decided to take another turn off and yes we headed off into the hills. Through the Toolangi State Forest along the Murrindindi Road. I managed to get some great photos with my new lens 150-500mm of the Yea Spur. With a beautiful country house in the distance.

Things are incredibly dry and were a shade of gold as the poem goes, I love a sun burnt  country a land of sweeping plains and golden soils, well it goes something like that.

We drove through the Yarra Valley way up in the hills along a dirt road, I never thought we would see the end of it going up higher and higher as the road wound around in a zig zag pattern and then down again.

Beloved stopped the car and as I stepped out I could smell the beautiful fresh smell of the Eucalyptus from the trees which towered way above me, as I looked up towards the sky the only noise I could hear was the faint chirps of birds singing in the distance.

Our next stop was on the Murrindindi Road a beautiful spot where there was a lovely river which was crystal clear, it would have been really nice to just sit by it for a while, maybe next time.

I managed to get a quick shot of a wallaby, oh no I didn't, what I thought was a good photo turned out to be blurry. With my new lens on my camera I was able to zoom in high up into the trees and I got this photo of one of the birds. Rosella's which were the most vibrant blue and red flew past us in groups, I wasn't able to get any photos as they were moving much too quickly trying to get away from us.
I was really happy with my new lens and look forward to getting out with it once again to see what I can do. It is quite large and boy is it heavy but so worth it with the photos I got. 150-500 mm
If you see a female with muscles in one of her arms that will be me from carrying the lens.

Catching Up

It was another hot Sunday, but I shouldn't care as when the sun is shinning brightly I am able to get some really great photographs.

I had a friend visiting for the day from Sydney and she wanted to head off to Williamstown.  We had a lovely day beginning with fish and chips at the best fish shop, then a walk  in the park and down by the bay.

It was such a hot day and at the end of a lovely day ice-creams were calling our names
A lovely catch up and some great photos were taken.

My Favorite Place

This week has been a week I'd rather forget, but we wont go into that we will reflect on our beautiful day at Jan Juc.

The day started out a bit of a gloomy day and my daughter had invited two of her friends to come with us, we hoped that the grey clouds would be blown away with the wind, but as we approached Torquay the wind had picked up and they sky was even a darker shade of grey to when we left home.

Lunch was eaten amidst chasing the plastic bags which housed out food and cups rolled away in the wind.
Once lunch was over the girl had decided to stay at  Bells Beach  for awhile so beloved and I headed off down the road to Jan Juc, I was all ready with camera to get some great shots although it was over cast. Then all of a sudden things began to change the sun came out the clouds moved away and as you can see I got some beautiful photos.

The girls even managed to have a swim....

Reflections in the waters edge

What turned out to be a beautiful day turned into a spectacular sunset. The colours of gold and yellow shone in the water that lay on the sand.

The breeze was warm as we walked along the sand, as I took a few photos of the reflection of the clouds in the water, the waves lashed at the waters edge as they rolled into the shore as a lone seagull ran off trying not to get wet..

Life is always so peaceful at the beach, the only sound you hear is the waves lashing at near by rocks,  in the distance you can hear a bird squawking, or a lone child giggling as they run in and out of the water.

I think I am at my most happiest and most relaxed when I'm sitting on the beach with my two favorite things, which are my beloved and my camera just watching the world go by..

All my photos are for sale if you are interested in any, please message me..
