With my backpack over one shoulder and my tripod in the other I set out to adorn the world with my presence.
I had planned to take some night photography. Night photography isn't as easy as I thought it would be and a photo usually doesn't come out clear unless you use a tripod and a remote. I'm only really to be truthful learning night photography so I don't profess to be an expert by any means. So any pointers on this subject is very much appreciated from you.
The sky which peered down from above wasn't the pretty blue I longed for, it was a mass of grey clouds, but never the less I felt really good in myself as I headed out for the day. First stop was the fish shop on the corner of Ferguson Street and The Strand in Williamstown, where I managed to grab a few shots of this cheeky Seagull. He was watching me very closely to see if I would drop just one small piece of calamari or a chip, but then when he realised I thought it was much too good to share he proceeded to see what he could get from the rubbish bin.
My hubby isn't too keen on these creatures and calls them the white version of the Black Crow.
I took a bit of a walk and decided to take a few photos of the boats on the bay. I didn't bring my tripod with me as I was being a bit lazy and left it in the car but now when I look at my photos on the computer I think maybe I shouldn't have been so lazy and I should have bought it with me as some of the horizon lines aren't as straight as they should have been. My beloved and a friend came with me today and neither of then wanted the task of carrying my tripod so there it lay in the car boot.
It was a bit of a dull day and it was harder to get a shot when it is so dull. I must admit photos taken in the sunshine are much better, but I never let any of this dampen my day. I manage to have some great laughs and a fun day of photo shooting.
Seagulls in flight
This shot caught my eye when I saw it.
My main aim for going out was not just for a good day with my beloved and a good friend. It was to be able to use my tripod which I was able to do, my night photography isn't so good in my eyes, but I am the worst critic when it comes to my own photography so use your own judgment on what you see.
