It has been sometime since I was here and so much has happened, another year has passed and a new year has begun. We celebrated a great Christmas with family, new year was quiet as we watched the hands on the clock tick over to midnight and into a new year. A new year with new beginnings and unknown things to come.
The most stressful thing to happen to me last year was, I put my head in my hands and cried, "why did this happen to me", why do these people target me, you ask what is going on? I was hacked by some malicious person who got into my photos and deleted them off my drive as well as my back up drive which I'd just attached to my computer. I lost the most precious things to me, my photos of my dear mum, my many travels I had been on with my beloved all gone. My son who is very savvy with computers was able to use a program he bought to get some of my photos back but sadly not all. Beloved also did all he could, I feel such anger to people who do this who have no regard for the people they hurt.
Besides from this we celebrated our daughters 21st birthday, which was a lovely night sitting around a fire pit on a cool Summers night listening to music. Time flies and I can not believe where it has gone, as it only feels like yesterday we celebrated daughters first birthday. We are so proud of where she is today.
Beloved and I have taken some time out, to go out with camera, and I have been busy doing my design work. I have done some time lapse videos which I am still learning how to perfect, but it is all part of the process and great fun.
We went into the city recently and sat by the Yarra River, hubby took in the view and relaxed whilst I did my time lapse, people walk past you and look at you and wonder what your doing, some smile and I even had a guy call out I'm here I know you have been waiting to photograph me lol People seem to want to talk to you when you take photos, they ask are you professional what do you photograph and some just look at you as if to say don't you dare take my photo.
This is the time lapse I took it was a gorgeous Summers day
So as we do, we all look back on the year that has passed like many of us we always say "I can't believe how fast the year has gone by" and it sure does go fast, time stands still for no one. I thank god for allowing me to see another year, another year with my family and another year to make many beautiful memories to treasure. We all have good and bad memories of the past year, but we move on and hold the good memories close to our heart.
We headed out again to my most favourite place, the Great Ocean Road and only to find my remote for my time lapse the battery was dead :( So sadly the sunset I wanted to capture is now only in pictures.
It was such a beautiful summers day and the light was perfect for taking photos, I have been to these places so many times and I never seem to tire of it. I love the beach more than anything and it is really good for your soul to be able to get away from the everyday things of life, to take in the cool beach air and the sunshine and to feel the sand between your toes.
When ever I go to places like this, I always seem to come home with so many photos and so many beautiful memories to treasure plus a car full of sand. We leave early in the morning and seem to come home very late.
We pack our food in the esky with our cold drinks and our thermos full of coffee and we head off. We were only going to Geelong to take photos of the silos which were painted by artist Rone but we ended up going much further as we always do. Once beloved starts driving he just keeps going, I think that is because he likes driving our 4x4.
The sunset was spectacular as was all the other scenery along the way. I once again used my 24-105mm lens, my go to and favourite lens. I got out of car and walked along beach whilst beloved played on his phone or slept, it was lovely as I was the only soul on the beach and it was nice not to have to worry about people getting in the way. I was able to walk anywhere I wanted as I felt the beautiful cool breeze on my face as the sun shone down on me. I felt really happy calm and relaxed as I took my photos.

Light house Aireys Inlet
The light house in photo above was used in one of my favourite children's shows, as was it my kids favourite, a show called "Around The Twist" where the father and his three children lived in the lighthouse. I had to get a shot of the lighthouse to say I've been here to a famous landmark. I waited for a bit to get this shot as there were tourists everywhere, once they were gone I quickly took this photo hoping no one would walk by.
All in all beloved and I had a great day watching the sun set over the ocean and I managed to get some really great photos which I can now say are for sale.
Beloved and I over the last few months have had some great trips with camera and there will be many, many more
