OLD BUILDINGS

Today was the first day I have been able to get out with my camera, it was such a beautiful day how could one stay in doors.
My theme today was photographing old buildings, there were so many I just didn't know where to start.
I decided to venture to a part of Melbourne called Brunswick and travelled right down to Coburg. It was hard to park, there seemed to be so many cars but the funny thing was I didn't see too many people, don't know where they were hiding as the shops which had their doors open seems to be very empty as were  the few scattered cafes which I passed.
Actually if I track back a bit, I first went to Fitzroy and was drawn to a hotel which was used in the Australian TV show the Sullivans, it was on the corner of a very quiet street which held many old houses.

                    A few old buildings

What an opportunity for a photo I just had to take these. The old Pentridge Prison which is now no longer a prison it is now a  housing estate, as I stood and looked at it I felt quite glad I didn't own one of the houses behind those errie blue stone walls.

The front of Pentridge, it is good to see they kept the outside

Some of the old buildings inside

These are some of the old prison cells which are sill standing ,and only 10 feet away are new apartments no thanks I don't want to live there.

As I stood there and looked around I wondered what stories these old blue stone buildings could tell.
What type of prisoner was looked behind those dim dark grey walls over the last 100 years or so.

The lighting for these photos wasn't good, I had the sun right above me and as I started to take these photos it began to set and become dull.
Never the less I perservered with it.
